Sorry for the delay in posting the memos this week! With the Accreditation Visit earlier this week and with Akari's vacation, I didn't have time until today to post them.
​
Speaking of Accreditation: WE DID IT!! CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WHOLE TEAM!!
You'll find in the memos the preliminary report of the visitor! You can be proud of yourselves! We did fantastically well!

3 announcements:
Everyone please join me in welcoming Marion who started her orientation with us last week! Her preceptors are Eve and Marie So. We are very happy that she joined our amazing team!
​
Let's also welcome Sherley who started with us this week as unit coordinator! We are very happy to welcome you into our team!
​
Today is the last day in the Birthing Centre of our beloved Jamie! She starts next week the new chapter of her career as a NP! While this is a very big loss for our team, we are extremely happy for Jamie and proud of her! The MUHC NP team has gained an amazing colleague! Go shine in your new role, as we know you will! Don't be a stranger and come back to see us!

I just wanted to take a moment to highlight the great care the team provided during a recent patient case. Your involvement and professionalism really made a difference in what was a complex situation.
The anesthesia team also shared their appreciation for the smooth and effective communication, as well as the quality of the pre-op preparation, both in terms of materials and the patient.
Beyond this case, I also want to thank you all for the quality of care you provide day in and day out. Your dedication, calm, and attention to details are truly appreciated.

Please join me in welcoming 2 new nurses to our Birthing Centre crew! Camille and Kim will be joining us shortly! They have their first Theory Day this week with Elisabeth, then they will officially start on the unit the week of June 22nd! Mirvat, Maude, Maria Jose and Brittany will be their preceptors! We are looking forward to meeting you Camille and Kim!

Congrats to Julia and Sarah who completed their triage training last week! They both have hectic days (as we know triage can get!!) and they rose to the challenge, as we knew they would!

This week, Kayla and Michaela are starting their OR training! We wish you the best of luck and we have no doubt that you will shine in this challenge!
​
I'd like to take this opportunity to send my most heartfelt thanks to all the preceptors! Winter and spring have been filled with orientations, whether onboarding new team members or precepting for new skills. Your professionalism and patience are key to make sure those orientations are a success and I couldn't be more proud of our entire team!
