We finally had a glimpse of Summer over the weekend! Hopefully you were able to enjoy those most needed rays of sun! If you were working, the forecast for next weekend is sunny so hopefully you'll enjoy it then!

Please join me in welcoming 2 new nurses to our Birthing Centre crew! Camille and Kim will be joining us shortly! They have their first Theory Day this week with Elisabeth, then they will officially start on the unit the week of June 22nd! Mirvat, Maude, Maria Jose and Brittany will be their preceptors! We are looking forward to meeting you Camille and Kim!

You might have already met Daisy as she came to do a shadow day earlier in May. We are very happy that Daisy is now a part of our team and we know she will do amazing!

Congrats to Julia and Sarah who completed their triage training last week! They both have hectic days (as we know triage can get!!) and they rose to the challenge, as we knew they would!
​
This week, Kayla and Michaela are starting their OR training! We wish you the best of luck and we have no doubt that you will shine in this challenge!
​
I'd like to take this opportunity to send my most heartfelt thanks to all the preceptors! Winter and spring have been filled with orientations, whether onboarding new team members or precepting for new skills. Your professionalism and patience are key to make sure those orientations are a success and I couldn't be more proud of our entire team!

This week, Maria Jose is being trained in the OR and we know she's going to excel!

The memos are short this week, but contain very important information on the new printers we received last week and from which we will print baby bracelets, labels for adult bracelets and charts paper. Make sure you read through the user guide of those printers carefully!

I hope the Daily Savings didn't mess up with your sleep too much! I am personally happy about this extra hour of sunlight in the evening, but the missing hour of sleep this weekend was painful! But being now in DST means we are this much closer to Summer!!!​

Once again, thank you all for the amazing work that you do on a daily basis and how you all rallied to help us cover the deficits for the summer! We couldn't be prouder to work with such a wonderful group of RNs, LPNs, UCs and PABs! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
