United for Joyce (WHM Chapter)
United for Joyce is a coalition of health workers who are working towards the adoption and implementation of Joyce's Principle in the Women’s Health Mission of the MUHC. Joyce’s Principle “aims to guarantee all Indigenous people the right of equitable access, without any discrimination, to all social and health services, as well as the right to enjoy the best possible physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. It also requires the recognition and respect of Indigenous people’s traditional and living knowledge in all aspects of health.” Our approach is carried out in partnership with the Council of Atikamekw Nehirowisiw of Manawan and the Indigenous communities we serve.
